The Anti-Fascist Action were backed by the German Communist Party.

The Iron Front were set up by SocDems as an anti-communist alternative to AntiFa.

Because as we all know, the only way to fight disease is to oppose medicine and promote a homeopathic snake oil instead.

      opens history book

Based on my Lemmy interactions every time this comes up outside of hexbear, grad, or .ml, nobody who argues against the communists has ever or will ever do this. Half of them are convinced that the Commies teamed up with the Nazis to kill the Social Democrats!

It’s this when you’re lucky. I can’t remember the exact page but I distinctly remember being linked a wikipedia article in one argument with a .worlder where every single section of the article had a little banner saying “this section has no citations”.

Oh and lets not forget how they’ll sometimes go for multiple citations, but it’s all just related wikipedia articles. So you’ll get linked to “Antisemitism in the Soviet Union,” “Joseph Stalin and Antisemitism,” “History of Jews in the Soviet Union,” “Antisemitism in Russia,” and “Antisemitism in Soviet Mathematics” all as evidence that the Soviets were just as bad as the Nazis.
