On a more serious note - just this morning there was news about the biggest victory of Zelensky’s regime yet - they stopped 40+ people trying to escape Ukraine. Each one of them paid 6-8k dollars for that (it’s a lot of money in Ukraine, for many people it might have been their life savings). “Hopeless situation” for Ukraine is the best news there could be for Ukrainians.
For context: minimum salary in Ukraine as of 1st april 2024 is 8000 UAH which is around 227 USD. Average salary (with all the caveats about average salary included) is around 20000 UAH which is 488 USD.
