Woke up wanting nothing more than to wear a cute outfit, but I’m forced to dress masc at work since I’m not out there. 😔
Actually fuck I haven’t gone out femme in a month. I haven’t been going out much since I’ve been tighter on cash and the friend I’d usually hang out with hasn’t been feeling up to it. I should probably do that soon, it might help me feel a bit less repressed.
Putting on a skirt and walking up to the lake to watch the sunrise and do some Qi Gong can be enough going out for me to start my day on the right foot.
But I’m in a liberal neighborhood so I have the privilege of feeling pretty safe doing that every morning.
when I was at the point of needing to make myself girlmode more and get used to it, I’d walk around the mall like once or twice a week. it was a nice compromise because I was in public, but everyone was busy doing their own thing and I didn’t really have to talk if I didn’t want to. it doesn’t have to be a mall, but just going for a walk is nice and free
Walking around the mall might be a good idea, yeah. I don’t know if I’d feel safe going around town without friends yet but the mall is usually okay, I think.
You ever paint your nails (maybe french or something subtle) or do light makeup/foundation before work?
I probably should, painting them shouldn’t be a problem I just haven’t because I have a nail biting problem and it cycles between being very short or just regular short. But I’m currently in the very short phase and I don’t want to paint them in that phase since I think it would look ugly.
Yeah c: And it does pay to wait a bit, they can look odd when painted short and grown out.
If you have to stealth and want to feel a little prettier, you can use clear nail polish on your nails. I know it’s not much but it may help you feel a little better. Also I’d go somewhere to smell some perfumes or something, I enjoy fragrances, you don’t have to buy anything but can maybe find somewhere to go on your lunch and have a little browse and such.
I’m too much of a book nerd to give up my lunch hour to anything except reading, but maybe after work some days I’ll try it.
