Host of The New Atlas discusses a video by PBS.

US government-funded Frontline PBS recently published a video regarding alleged Russian “war crimes” from early 2022.

Despite over half a year to gather evidence, the video report categorically fails to prove the Russian massacres of Ukrainian civilians.

He covers various aspects of it but here is one of his statements after he presents the information that leads him to say this (copy-pasted from the video’s auto-generated transcript):

so every actual shred of evidence that we look at here suggests that most of these civilians were killed in crossfire I don’t believe that it was Ukrainian forces deliberately trying to kill their own civilians when they were shelling bucha but by shelling bucha they did Kill hundreds of civilians then when Russian forces withdrew anyone considered a collaborator was clearly rounded up and executed

they had their arms bound behind their back many of them wearing white armbands and they were shot they were tortured beforehand their bodies mutilated afterwards exactly as the New York Times described ukrainians killing Russian soldiers that they captured right down the road from bucha

now this is not conclusive evidence but it’s much more compelling than anything presented by Frontline PBS as a matter of fact if you watch the Frontline PBS video carefully you’ll notice that they don’t actually really get into how all of these civilians died

I don’t know enough about this to really comment; if you see major problems with the analysis given in this video please let me know.
