I got into a fucking stupid argument today on Belgium’s socialist reddit about Cuba and the marxist party’s stance on the issue.
I asked a guy what his problem with Cuba was.
His response was that Cuba has many poor workers and many people lack basic goods.
I tell him it’s a heavily sanctioned country because it opposes capitalism and that while doing so it has to suffer inhumane punishments. I also pointed out that our marxist party continues this point of view in their policies.
He then responds with: maybe we should ask the Cubans what they think, after which I stopped replying.
Some people just lack basic thinking skills it seems
That’s really sad when “socialists” are quick blame poverty on socialist governments, and not the crippling sanctions and embargos they’re faced with.
This should be on “Always the same map”
