If partying hard is a crime then throw me in jail.

Also reactionaries really need to give this “disaster for dad Joe’s campaign” shit a fucking rest already. There’s a very long list of legitimate criticisms that people have of Genocide Joe, and his son dropping a mil on hookers and blow is not anywhere close to the top of it.

I’m not opposed to this perspective but Joe fuckin Biden is the guy who wrote the '94 crime bill. He argued in the Senate to put motherfuckers in prison for renting warehouses to ravers. This man’s son does more drugs than most of the people in prison from his bill, and yet he’s not in prison. It’s absolutely ripe political fodder for attacking him, there’s no reasonable argument for his kid not being affected by his awful policies other than he knows they’re awful and he doesn’t want his son affected by them. He should be attacked for this shit, it should be a normal way to criticize him. If his kid shouldn’t be in prison for the obvious, well documented crimes he does, why should anybody elses?

Is it really confusing? They will use any angle to attack their opponents, I don’t think it’s anything new. There’s nothing internally consistent about the Democrats or the Republicans, I can’t see why they would need consistency on this one subject.

Edit: he’d face jail time for tax memes, not for the stuff normies go to jail for. Hehexd moment

I mean yeah I’m not saying we shouldn’t go after Hunter for the tax evasion or whatever (not the drug crimes, nobody should be in jail for doing drugs). But speaking of Papa Biden, I just don’t think it’s that big of a deal compared to the other stuff he’s done (the aforementioned crime bill, funding a genocide, opening up more oil drilling despite staring down the barrel of an existential climate crisis, etc). Conservatives won’t criticize him on those things because they agree with most of them, so they bang the Hunter Biden drum because it’s about the only thing they have. They deserve to be mocked for spending absurd amounts of time and taxpayer money on something that barely fucking matters rather than the actual important issues affecting the country.

Paying $870k on sex work is absolutely staggering and there’s no way that he was a John for potentially thousands of escorts without being involved in human trafficking, statutory rape or just outright rape. The dude is a rapist and human trafficker. This isn’t “partying”. He took advantage of their addictions to cocaine as well I’m sure.

It is useful to point out the double standard between us lowly peasants and the upper class. Hunter’s father is the one who put harsh minimum sentences on millions of people for the same crimes his son gets away with without issue for years.

Also, Joe is laundering his corrupt money through his son so it is relevant. Hunter is the vessel through which all the Ukraine plunder flowed, and it’s a necessary part of understanding why the Democrats went so all in on Ukraine (heavy financial intertwining and corruption)

Looking at this through a leftist and class conscious lens, absolutely, the Bidens should be held to the same standards as everyone else. But the right-wing ghouls conducting this investigation and many of the rags reporting on it aren’t doing it for justice. They don’t care about that. They actually love punitive drug laws. To them this is nothing more than “payback” for Dems prosecuting similar cases against Trump and his nepo babies. They’ve been floating the idea of impeaching Biden since before he was even inaugurated and have been fishing for any reason to do so. Not to mention I bet if you dig deep enough into Congress alone you could find dozens or even hundreds of elected officials who have also spent tens of thousands on drugs and sex workers, but few of them will ever face so much as a moment of scrutiny.

I could get on board with going after Hunter if the same standard was applied to the rest of them.

Cool, let them fight. Hope the Republicans do as much damage as possible to Genocide Joe, who gives a fuck. Hopefully it distracts and paralyzes him.

Okay? That’s no reason to go easy on Biden corruption, just a reason to go harder on congressional corruption. Use the dirt on Biden to bring him down, damage and delegitimize these bourgeois political institutions. It’s better to focus on something that will cripple Genocide Joe domestically in the news than 99% of what American news focuses on

idgaf about the parties themselves but the working class in America still suffers while congress wastes their time fishing for reasons to impeach biden. which won’t even fucking do anything even if they succeed, because neither did the last two impeachments. Hunter wasn’t an elected official, the courts should be handling this, not congress. Bureaucratic inefficiency matters to me when it causes people to suffer. like obviously neither party is going to get better but it still helps to vent about it

and I’ve never suggested going easy on biden, either of them. i’m just saying none of this is going to result in any substantive or material changes for the working class in america, other than hastening the collapse of this racist piece of shit empire.

You think the Democrats or congress will ever help the working class of America? The best we can hope for from bourgeois dictatorships is paralysis and collapse and incompetency. If congress was united right now they would be pushing through more border walls and more Ukraine funding, a functioning American congress is a bad thing. The best case scenario for us is that they are distracting themselves and causing contradictions to lock-up. I would rather congress waste its time with this theater shit than push more funding for Ukraine

I’ve only seen the photos that have been posted recently, and honestly everything seems consensual? All seem to be adults, all seem to be okay with being photographed, all seem to be legitimate sex workers. I’m not scoping out everything about this guy, but it doesn’t look like the sex is his main problem it’s his connections to power/money and avoidance of consequences due to said power and money.

Edit: someone lower did mention that with 870k worth of sex that probably does include some human trafficking. And he was on the board for that Ukrainian energy company and Ukraine was a big hub of human trafficking before the war so yeah sexual predator is probably right.

What does it take to stay completely, amply, and ethically satisfied, like hiring a high-end sex worker every night? Maybe in the ballpark of 200k a year? More than that, then there’s a huge imbalance going on.

On one hand it is quite funny how Hunter just couldn’t handle the family obligation to be a cruel killing machine (literally or metaphorically) in order to advance his and his family’s political career, so he became a drugs & party dude.

On the other hand, it is terrible how Hunter just gets to do whatever and the worst consequence for him is that he goes to a cool island resort where they help him with his drug habit, but normal people will absolutely be brutalized by the state for doing 5% of what Hunter is doing and the person who passed all the laws that brutalize people for it is Joe fucking Biden.

Yeah, I have to assume they wouldn’t report on it with such casual phrasing if it was, like, CSAM or something, but I’m pretty sure actual producers pay less for videos.

I think there’s no real explanation except that it was one of those websites that facilitates contact so the sex worker (or someone who presents as being them) is able to milk you for money over time, in which case it makes sense.

The wackiest thing about this tale is that he got kicked out of the sex club for grabbing someone’s ass

I personally would not classify sexual harassment as wacky. It’s rather dark, really. If Hunter Biden is sexually harassing women who can afford the $75,000 entry fee, what is he pulling with the women he spent the rest $800,000?

The “best” lib answer is that sure, they paid Hunter for influence but Joe didn’t actually do anything for them. Which a.) isn’t how conflict of interest works, it’s the situation itself that’s the problem, and b.) strains credulity, since after the first few hundies if they weren’t getting anything in return you assume they would just stop.
