They were trying to teach us [Fascist] songs. I vividly remember this song they were marching in the street with. The Hitler Youth, young boys actually of our age, were singing, “Das Judenblut vom Messer spritzt, geht’s uns nochmal so gut” [The Jews’ blood spurting from the knife makes us feel especially good]. They were also singing it in the school.
Reminds me of the ‘Blood of Russians’ thing in Ukraine.
