Holy shit, so the IDF just fired tank rounds at a hostage situation.
They were talking about this on the last CTH episode, that there’s a baked in mentality with the IDF and the Israeli government that losing a few Israeli citizens every 6-18 months from a minor Hamas attack is a price worth paying to keep the Palestinians in Gaza contained. So it’s not surprising that they’d wantonly fire upon their own people in the name of subjugating Gaza.
It seems like her story isn’t unique either. Wouldn’t be surprised if the IDF is just trying to leave no survivors so they can control the narrative. Her surviving was probably a mistake.
Would be easy for them to spin that the captured Israeli were killed by Hamas if the dead aren’t there to say otherwise.
The only places Israel killed the captives are places where Israelis survived.

You’d think that conscription would mean that your average soldier is more normal than volunteer armies but the IDF really proves that wrong.
Giving teenagers high explosives and effective carte blanche for their actions then unleashing them on innocent people is never going to end well.
