I plan to watch The Batman next week (yeah, yeah, copaganda, but I actually really like what I saw of the aesthetic and the cinematography is supposed to be really good, which, in an atmosphere of movie-making where style over substance is a constant thing… you may as well go for the most well-done stylistic performance; not really condoning “style over substance” so much as I’m being adaptive at this point lmao)
Other than that?
There’s apparently a new Guy Ritchie film (which I actually didn’t know about).
I have a Criterion account (which I would recommend if you were planning to get any subscription service when it comes to cinema).
Also, there are a few Soviet films I could watch on Criterion so that’s something.
The last one i watched was a russian crime drama called “brother” that I’ve been meaning to watch for sometime. I like to choose a random language and look for the best rated movies in that language, although i admit russian was not random. Im kind of fascinated with russia, specially the language. I also need to watch “lawrence of arabia”. I’m just hunting down all the cult classics and ones in languages other than english.
On an old animation kick recently. Finally got around to watching a French film called Gandahar, which is like La Planète Sauvage but not as good. Gonna watch Time Masters next.
Might watch a new anime.
Also, consider going to my thread on fictional novels here since we really can’t always be talking about current affairs and politics all the time; need some “light” material to go over haha
