This made me curious if the CIA ever accidentally did that, and I did some looking around. I couldn’t find one.

Far right politicians are usually big fans of the US for some reason, which makes the US not want to remove them. I wonder why that is?

they helped nassar remove the king in egypt that one time. They also named their operation “Project FF (fat fucker)”, the main reason for this was farouk was a complete incompetent moron for a puppet. Too lazy, hedonistic, scummy, and in general the most incompetent ruler ever, so before any actual anti-imperialist revolution happened, they tried getting more competent people. Nassar tricked the CIA so that was funny.

There’s a few other comments here with other examples. I admit, I only did a cursory 5 minute search. It seems that in all cases, they tricked the CIA though, so the original point stands. It’s just funny.

        Only leaning?

The political options to choose from are right or far right. You can choose between the republicans 20 years ago, or the republicans of today.

American is one of the most right wing countries in the world, only surpassed by Israel and Ukraine.

It’s unfair to leave Poland out of that list. Israel at least has a socdem party in parliament, Poland starts at libertarianism and goes right from there.

I don’t see what factions exist as important. But who rules. The existence of this faction may be tolerated but the fascists are in power and have been for 50 years where they’ve created an apartheid society and a deeply fascist culture. That is not really the case for Poland, which seems to be in the fledgling stage of fascist takeover.

        the US is right leaning

… right leaning… as if it’s gentle as fuck and super duper teeny tiny from the “center”…

The US IS the right. The US is like a fucking missile that’s taken off and violently exploded through the furthest part of the right of the spectrum, going arbitrarily further endlessly without limit.

All right-wing governments and trends lead back to the US. All roads to the right lead to the US. Stop using soft language for the worst empire in world history.

Well the US did get tricked into supporting the CPC so, once at least. Castro also had some media support at least early on.

That was the best TF experience honestly. People weren’t too skilled in it and you had that joy of stuff that wasn’t done before. It basically was Overwatch or how those things are called with players having avatars which got different skills.

Ho Chi Minh is a far more complex from the western standpoint than any other communist. He essentially used the threat of making Vietnam communist to get western support and then did it anyways lol. He was far better at openly playing the west than any other leader I’ve seen, gotta love it.

I don’t get why Ho Chi Minh isn’t a more revered figure among Western leftists. Successfully fought against Vichy and fascist Japanese forces in WWII, played the OSS, kicked out French colonizers, defeated the puppet post-colonial government and the US empire, and Vietnam would go on to be a largely successful socialist economy, independent, didn’t break during the collapses of the late 80’s/90’s, and the claims of “communist authoritarianism” against it are about the most piss weak of all nominally socialist states. All-around Chad.

Tbf I don’t find this prospect unthinkable since some far-right parties in europe aren’t quite as aligned with american strategy as others.

For example Le Pen (who is almost certainly winning in 2028), the german AfD and Orban have dissented, in different measures, to the establishment’s position on ukraine and china. If a far-right party were to reach power in one of the big EU countries and they were expected to shift europe away from the US I don’t see why the americans WOULDN’T interfere.

I think it’s the other way around. Michael Hudson said back in the 1970s the people from the State Department already told him that they knew the challenge to US establishment in the future would come from the European left, not the right, so they spent decades infiltrating every soc dem and leftist party and promoted US-leaning politicians groomed under their wing.

They were never worried about the far right, nor should they be, because the European far right will never pose a real challenge to the US or capital. If you really want proof, look at Meloni’s Italy.

If you really want proof, look at Meloni’s Italy.

Ok but my point is you don’t look at JUST meloni to judge the willingness of the whole european far right to follow the US, Meloni and her party are fiercely atlanticist in a way that the 3 examples I mentioned aren’t, a hint at their difference is if they are in the ID or the ECR group in the euro parliament, ID parties “tend” to be “softer” on, say, russia and china but not always, and if one of these parties actually were willing to, for example, pull the plug on ukraine support if it came to power I don’t see why america wouldn’t act to keep that party from power. They didn’t need to do that with meloni because she’s always been a vocal supporter of american strategy.

I’m just saying this to complicate things a bit, I don’t think it’s certain at all that these EU-US skeptical far right parties would actually follow through on it, it’s sort of like asking whether trump would actually stop backing ukraine, can’t say for certain
