Why is everyone so negative in this thread? I didn’t take time off for the release but I bought the Premium version to get the early access so that I can play on the weekend.

As for bugs in Bethesda games: I’ve played every BGS game since Morrowind (except Fallout 76) and since Skyrim I also played them on release day and I never experienced any game breaking bugs. Most bugs I encountered were more funny than annoying and a minor inconvenience at most. And that’s applicable for almost all bugs in BGS games, yes they have bugs but most of them can be easily ignored because they don’t affect enjoyment of the game.

Ragging on Bethesda games is just what people who can’t form thier own opinions do. I’m with you, I’ve played most of thier catalogue and nothing has ever been unplayable.

Gamers can hold a grudge like no other asshole.

“I paid the equivalent of a restaurant lunch PER MONTH for THIS 76 BULLSHIT and I WAS NOT ENTERTAINED and there weren’t ANY PEOPLE NPCS and NOTHING WAS WORKING and ALL BETHESDA GAMES SUCK and and and”

Hang on you can’t say “I’ve never experienced any bugs that are game breaking” and then go “oh but I also haven’t played 76”.

That whole game is one giant bug.

Isn’t there a way to glitch through the map into a dev zone, and then get every gun in the game?

I have never been sick a day in my life. I have never taken a vacation. I have accumulated more PTO than my entire team but I donate the time to a local animal shelter at the end of the year in cash. When the DLC for Horizon Forbidden West came out, I died. I was dead for a couple of days. Then I got better and went back to work. I feel like I might die next week. A certain something in the air.

It’s a Bethesda game, you’re lucky to make it out of the tutorial without running into a bug :)

So no rush at all to play it, I’m waiting for reviews (and the first ten patches).

How, in the year of our lord, 2023, do people still buy Bethesda games on launch!?

HOW MANY LEOPARDS MUST EAT YOUR FACE!?

It is a Bethesda game and we know how buggy they are on launch. I’m waiting a while until the worst bugs are resolved and maybe for the first sale hopefully around christmas time

Hopefully it’s good. But it’s a Bethesda game, so you’ll be lucky if walking into rocks doesn’t kill you.

I’d leave it at least a week if I were you. There is a 100% chance they’ll be a game-breaking bug on day one. And there is a 50% chance that they actually fix it on day one.

You may not recall them but they were definitely there. One of the settlement quests would completely crash the game on the initial release. That said, I am sure that Starfield will be fun to play regardless of bugs.

I’m not playing it myself because the genre is not what I like but I’m hopeful that it is good. I have started to worry about Bethesda’s ability to make good games anymore and that concerns me when looking forward to ES6.

Oh that settles it then. Specifically you can’t recall a bug from a video game that came out 8 years ago that fits into your personal definition of game-breaking.

Must have been a perfect product.

You betcha! Need a break from work and a long weekend to play Starfield (at least while the kids are at school/asleep/otherwise occupied) comes at a great time.

Came here for the positivity. I’ll pretend all the negative nancies who will complain about ANYTHING Bethesda does no matter what are just shouting into the void.

I took some time off because I needed a break, not specifically for Starfield, but it definitely works in my favor and it’ll probably what I’m going to be spending a large chunk of time on.
