Have you ever visited the Chinatown section in a major city?
Maybe it’s because I didn’t read the books but Inaro was underwhelming in general. Like I was supposed to care about how big of a threat he is but his character was so cartoonish.
It tries to do both and does neither well.
Unfortunately, it took you 17 days of straight playing to realize what many already knew before it came out.
Haven’t watched the show yet but that’s some Harry Potter looking shit.
Uh what? Historian? The history of…where no man has gone before? Why would a biologist/chemist be on the bridge? They would be in a lab where they could actually employ their skills. Not saying Counselor is the best, but it’s pretty obvious it’s because of her abilities, not her title.

We will never get another Skyrim again it’s pretty clear. Breaks my heart but that’s just the reality. I wish there were other studios making games like the BGS sandboxes like how other studios are making soulslikes now. They need direct competition.
Yes I can. Just did. There isn’t some magic epiphany when you get your greasy nubs on the keyboard and the software is running locally on your machine. I see everything there is to see and know everything there is to know about it because I looked extensively. Not buying it.
Like you have any power to invalidate my opinion because you gave some dumbass corp money. I’m not the idiot who bought dogshit and try to convince everyone else it’s not just to make myself feel better.
Yep. Saw what I would be buying and didn’t waste money. Funny how that makes me the dumb one in your eyes?
Gotta have that credit card number locked in by the E3 launch apparently.
I bought FO76 at launch and played it for 70-80 hours before dropping it for good. Never could get back into it but I digress. I have 0 interest for Starfield.
This is all to say, the reviews seem pretty validating and it tracks with my personal experience.
I also wouldn’t hold out any hope for great DLC. We’re decades away from Point Lookout at this point. You might get a Far Harbor, but I think it’s probably gonna be Vault 88.
I’ve honestly never seen this much of an unapologetic shameless dogshit take. To actually think, “no, it’s the players who are wrong” in this situation takes some real delusion.
Like this is the most “mask off” fanboy post.
I keep seeing this “Skyrim in space” moniker from the people who are lukewarm yet still positive about the game. I’d argue you can’t even say that. From what I’ve seen, the game is a regression in a lot of ways. Skyrim and other earlier BGS titles are superior products.
It will literally never be that if you keep buying it. It also just wouldn’t exist at all, so I understand there is no winning scenario. But there definitely won’t be more as long as it is “working”.
You know what else isn’t very great during the release period? The mods.
If you’re reductive enough, sure. Anything ever is like that. However, how much are you really reducing to say this when compared to those games? I’d bet the list is much, much longer. And those games came out over a decade ago, by the same studio no less, so these problems shouldn’t just be accepted quirks as they seem to be internally.
Seems exactly as expected. Higher than average scores but ultimately more of the same with a less interesting IP as a coat of paint.
Would someone be able to ELI5 why lemmyshitpost has this problem but other communities don’t or at least seemingly? I would think if they can do this to one lemmy.world community, wouldn’t they be able to do all?
