Since the war started I’ve seen the Ukrainian flag no less than ten times a day, and almost every time (I’d say a solid 8/10 times) it’s been linked to something that elicited anger in me. (horrible stuff Ukraine’s military is doing, the Azov battalion, shitlibs with bad takes, etc.) and now every time I see the combination of blue and yellow I immediately get upset.
My quick google to try to understand this implies it’s Pavlovian conditioning, and I have to agree with that. So, is anyone else getting this, or do I need a vacation from the internet?
Usually when I have an emotional reaction to something political I interpret it as not understanding the whole situation. I came to this conclusion when the more I became learned in certain subjects, the less angry I felt about it
The people waving these flags are usually apolitical people who just follow trends like fish who can’t escape the currents. They are hypnotized by corporate mass media, which is the sole cause for this trend, since nowadays they play the same subject non-stop. There’s nothing to be angry about, it’s just the way things are right now

Same. I don’t know where people even find the energy to be surprised at hypocritical things like the ukranian flag, anymore. Since we put so much time in studying theory, we often loose ourselves we it comes to critically thinking about people who haven’t had the chance to give socialism the time of day. Lemmygrad it great for serious discussions and kinda just “being”, but I feel like we ought to put the hazmat suit sometimes and dive into the liberal cesspools, even if it is just to have a different take be there. People will never change with they’re not confronted about it.
Tldr; we live in a society.
I feel the same comrade. This stupid liberal obsession with Ukraine has done this to us. It’s not just the internet, there’s idiots in the streets putting up posters, idiots on television, and idiots you know in real life as well. There’s no escaping it really.
Yeah, those blue and yellow pfps are quite irksome. Most subreddits have it. The other day I lost my shit when even fucking Grammarly had it when I went to the website. But of course the reaction lasts only a few milliseconds after which I realize that we live in a society.
I was thankful that none of the icons on my phone changed to the Ukrainian flag, then I had to open Grammarly to delete an accidentally saved incorrect word and got rather cross for a few minutes after seeing that a service that’s dedicated to fixing grammar and should have absolutely no political stances what so ever has a Ukrainian flag logo now
lmao, I saw a yellow and blue house and felt a kinda anger response in my gut remembering all the shit that’s going on. Then I remembered oh right it’s just a house not a political statement and laughed at myself.
