Most of my current programming projects were started before I even really knew Rust was a thing, and now they’ve been ongoing for too long to make rewriting in Rust worth it, which makes me kind of sad. I’m mainly sad because I feel like I missed out on an opportunity to really get familiar with the language by actually making something useful, and if I had used Rust for one of those projects, I’d be a lot better at Rust than I am now. Anyone else in the same boat?

For me (and probably many others) it’s hard to even start a long running project, regardless of language choice. It always feels like there’s already something written for that purpose or that a certain topic is harder to implement than it was to conjure out of thin air :P
