With the Reddit exodus, there’s been a significant increase in the number of bad-faith liberals commenting on communities like LSC. I don’t personally think we should ban liberals from all communities if they’re being respectful, but immediate hostility breaks the instance’s third rule and seeing it everywhere might make some users uncomfortable. In particular, the bigger communities that only have admins as mods (I get the feeling that they have a lot to deal with already) or have inactive mods might need some help
I haven’t spoken to any admins about this so ignore this if it’s already being dealt with
No yeah, getting more mods in communities is a good thing. Only problem is as a mod you can only ban someone from your community and not from the whole website, that’s why I’ve been clamoring for modmail (and adminmail too) on Lemmy, or just a rework of the report system. I think the best thing to do if you ban someone from your instance is report another of their comment and ask us to ban them from the instance, with some context of course because we really can’t tell from a single comment most of the time lol (even if we do browse their profile)
sounds like we need a terminally online admin 👀
the closest we have to that is @CriticalResist8@lemmygrad.ml himself
bro…
I said closest 🥲
Or counter what we need is enough admins to cover the day with overlapping primary shifts.
I do have a question about the report system if we solve it at the mod/community level does it also get marked solved on the admin level?
Unfortunately yes.
