    if you’re using the US postal system, you’re required to have a return address. Letters without one will be discarded.

      That’s not true. They’ll only be discarded if they are undeliverable. You can send a normal letter in the US through the USPS without a return address.

      that’s not true in my experience at all. every letter sent without a return address gets delivered.
