    I don’t really see this as a positive, the Indians being included in BRICS and SCO is going to have the same effect as Turkey being in NATO. They’re just going to be a roadblock to the objectives of the organisation in order to strongarm them for their own interests.

    The Indian state should be made to change itself or at least it’s leadership before it is allowed to hold sway among actually anti imperialist blocs.

    I’m disappointed that this obvious future risk is being gambled on by the SCO.

      My view is the opposite actually. It’s much better if India is integrated into BRICS and SCO than being pushed into western camp and being openly antagonistic towards the global south. Meanwhile, the US is basically doing everything possible to cut off India’s options to play both sides. As India’s economy starts becoming deeper integrated with BRICS/SCO, that’s necessarily going to affect politics in India as well. The less economic dependence on the west there is the less incentive there is to align with the west politically.
