The mayor of Kabul will remain in power under the Taliban, he told RT, explaining how the Islamic fundamentalist group was able to so easily retake the country and what will now happen to the country's women.
The more I read of the Taliban’s plans domestically, and how they’re trying to do international diplomacy here-on-out, the more I critically support them. I’d prefer if a more leftist group could take power, but if this is what we get, I’m kinda okay with it.
I don’t know what to think right now, but I am certainly aware of the West’s massive incentive to use propaganda against them. But as the other commenter pointed out, they’re in PR mode and also have incentive to create their own propaganda. Admittedly I’m not Muslim nor have I ever lived in the Middle East so I’m as ignorant as anyone can be on the truth of the matter. I guess we’ll see how it plays out, because we can’t affect what’s going on over there anyway.
I believe a lot of good things we hear about them right now is a result of PR effort from them but at the same time it’s difficult to ascertain the truth currently because the mainstream media seems to be hell bent in manufacturing consent for US to reinvade the place.

Just be careful. They are in heavy PR mode right now. The world’s eyes are on them, and they know it. It is likely as not that they are lying.
