Given they banned CTH2 on the same day as CTH it likely wasn’t high on their radar until their automated tools showed large numbers of users from the banned sub CTH migrating there. Having Chapo in the name probably didn’t help. I would never make another leftist sub with chapo in the name of it on reddit because that’s going to sooner or later get them on you.
Also anyone else experiencing the alleged symptoms of a new kind of shadowban on reddit? Lots of people claiming their upvotes and downvotes no longer register after having been active on CTH. It appears to be happening to me when I view things I’ve upvoted in another private browser instance. My hypothesis was it was either a new form of shadowban wielded to silence the left entirely on reddit or that it was a still devious but temporary measure but in place to prevent any kind of brigading actions by upset CTH users (and for all I know by upset users of other banned subs that were reactionary although I have no evidence for this) and would fall off over time.

Dang I hadn’t heard that. Reddit is basically curated tech-elite pro-empire-posting at this point, its pretty trivial for any small paid org to get something on the front page with high numbers of initial votes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they got more insidious with vote manipulation.
