    As someone with friends in Saudi Arabia, these reforms are not well received by the population. The only reason you don’t see anyone doing anything or saying anything against these reforms is the same reason you don’t see people protesting for Palestine: There is no free speech in SA. The government bans protests and has heavy surveillance in places like mosques, libraries, schools, and universities and public spaces in general.

    This is just west washing their crimes.

      Agreed, tho i would phrase it as small concessions to appease the people from the west.

      Putting myself on the shoes of an avg arab woman, i would feel insulted about this article.

        Yeah it’s definitely insulting, especially after throwing Saudi women in jail for their own activism and feminism.
