Well, where is the surprise? Right now, given the current state of things, antagonizing china is favour of the US is just suicide.

Like investing your paychecks in lottery tickets instead of buying a house

This is something Poland is quite famous to do historically though. Even though a single look at Poland’s structure of export/import makes this absolutely understandable, polish governments since 1989 and especially current government make wrong choice like every single time except this one and are still digging deeper currently. So it IS very surprising (and might change soon).

There are also parliamentary elections in Poland this year, which will probably turn into ukronazis and US bootlick fest and also traditionally after them some sweeping changes (for worse as always) might happen.

I’m familiar with how fucking pathetically bootlicking and bigot Poland is, you’re right about that. By their standards it is at least somewhat surprising.

I was trying to say that for any leader with a sliver of competency and attachement to reality, picking china over the US just isn’t a choice

Yeah, we don’t have those in Poland though. The last leader who shown something remotely close to even bourgeoisie common sense was Donald Tusk and it was a damn low bar. For other example - the only mainstream politician who is not breathing antirussian hate now is Janusz Korwin-Mikke. This bad.
