    theres rebels and rebels. when did you start following the syrian conflict?

    al-tanf rebels and AANES rebels are US puppets.

    North+Idlib rebels are turkish puppets.

      I started following in 2019 but I always confuse all sides in north, can’t wait for it to end.

        me too, but I caughht up to each side differences and history back then, I guess.

        Some rebels hate each other. Turkey uses some against the ones in AANES/NE syria

                Turkey uses the TFSA (Turkish Free Syrian Army) against the US-backed SDF (Syrian Defense Forces, an amalgamation of local autonomous militias which resist joinign syria, mostly kurdish on the north, and mostly arab elsewhere).

                    Now nothing is happening, because Syria is kind of in an economic crisis between covid and the war, and they dont want to push turkey too far without russian support.

                    Turkey hinted towards invading part of SDF-controlled syria, but they decided against it, maybe because both russia and NATO said “guys, stop it while the big boys fight”
