This point right here ties into why it’s so godawful expensive to renounce one’s citizenship(in an economy where the average Amerikan can’t afford a $1000 emergency expense, no less), and why they’ll still come to raid your pockets for taxes after the fact on some banditry shit. When you’re born Amerikan, they want you to know this is the only option you have. They want you to perceive, in every way, that this is this the only option you have.
