In conversation with an east German the other day the topic of ML came up - it was a required class in university in the DDR. They said something super strange, which I didn’t have the opportunity to dig into. “Marx was basically right, it was Lenin who didn’t understand it.” I’ll try to see if I can get a bit more out of them at one point, although I know we can’t expect much from a Gen X “Ossi” who went on city sightseeing tours in ML class because the prof knew the students couldn’t care less about theory.
