Well, this support comes from ignorance/manipulation, i disagree.
Furthermore, the so-called “brakes upon lybian civil liberties” should never be discussed without the attacks from the west that Lybia was suffering for decades before the invasion, they famously even renounced to nuclear weapons, but to no avail.
It took 41 years for Muammar Gaddafi to retrieve Gamal Abdel Nasser, it’s a sad story. We sanctioned Lybia during the 90s under the guise of protecting the population, it makes no sense, please don’t claim that our population knows and support our actions, i’ve discussed with other people and they don’t know much about all this.
I’ve watched our news and they can talk for weeks about a random murder, or will give a summary that misses things, and it’s not really their fault(, more of their capitalist owners who selected them), but i’m regretting this lack of diversity in our medias, we have in France a very narrow expression of opinions(, except on the Internet fortunately), and our citizens believe that it’s encompassing every possible&acceptable opinions, and that some of them are even extreme, that’s far from the case as this community exemplifies. Imagine a 24/7 anti-imperialist channel news, most of our citizens would be surprised by the existence of that point of view. And our lack of diversity goes beyond that i.m.o.
