I wanted to talk about this for a long time…
So Marvel fans… I’m so fucking tired of them(note I’m not talking about og Spider-Man, I’m talking about MCU exclusively): They are so annoying with their superhero movie worship, they are talking about those movies like they are the movies of all time, masterpieces with masterfully written script and galaxy brain stories, like they are Nolan films in terms of storytelling… And the thing is, these are not just idiots on the internet, even in TV channels where they talk about movies, they are literally, I’m not shitting you, putting MARVEL MOVIES and directors in the same rang with Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, James Cameron, George Lucas, Ridley Scott and Nolan!!!
They think that their B superhero good guy vs bad guy, good guy beats bad guy after power-up movies are in the same rangs as: GODFATHER, INDIANA JONES, JURASSIC PARK, SCHINDLER’S LIST, E.T., JAWS, STAR WARS, INDIANA JONES, TITANIC, GLADIATOR, INCEPTION, ALIEN etc… And that Marvel movies absolutely deserve to take half of top 10 box office movies(with Endgame being 1st one time) list overtaking timeless masterpieces…
How exactly? I saw more anarchism with Joker and Bane than fascism
Really? I always saw Bane as ebil socialist. The fash character would actually be Batman, at least in the third movie with the whole cop thing and anti-communist strawman. That whole “stop crime with fear” thing and the laws based on lies because “order and progress” aint looking good either
Yes, Bane is kinda representing ebil socialist revolution against the rich, but then just continues killing everybody and wanted to blow the whole city up along with himself, that looks more anarchist to me…
I imagine that half way through writing the script, Nolan realized that he made Bane too based; so he made sure Bane was a cynical blood thirsty liar instead of a vanguard.
Nolan’s conclusions in the movies chalks up human progress as either accidents and everything us a cynical lie to prop up the wrong elites. 😒
Bane should have won. Such as killed Batman. Then if you REALLY wanted to depict a more positive take without making the vanguard correct; then it should have been the people who overthrows Bane where Gotham comes to terms with having to strengthen communities, empowering the working Gothamites, ect. They took what Bane was talking about and did it for real on Gotham’s terms.
Nolan had to realize that Bane wasnt wrong.
