Great game made by russian devs where you play as one of the “minor” eastern bloc countries (No USSR/China) during 1989-1991.
Just finished a run as the GDR where i took control of the eastern bloc by creating a new CMEA and warsaw pact after USSR pulled out from both, turn back reforms on eastern europe using the stasi, provoked an india-pakistan war to keep the INC in power, helped gadaffi, spread socialism to sri lanka, ireland and japan, supported iraq during desert storm, assasinated deng, kept USSR from fully collapsing, instituted semi-automated cyber socialism and bribed israeli officials for nuclear weapons research and then shared it with the DPRK.
But then i forgot to keep westalgie low and student liberals somehow overthrew the police surveilance state i built that spies on your grandma taking a shit with more military might than all of europe by fucking demonstrating.
The game has a lot of reading, controls and UI are clunky and it has a lot of confusing mechanics and the choices that are given to you won’t make any sense unless you know a bit of history of the respective socialist countries up to 1989 and it also has a lot of typos/translation errors in english but overall i think its a good game with nearly no western bias like a lot of games that have you play as a socialist country. The devs (Kremlingames) also made 3 other games of a similar nature although i recommend not touching Crisis in the Kremlin (the remake) at all since in my opinion it is atleast 5 decades behind in graphics design and UI.
I bought all their games and I’ve only tried Crisis in the Kremlin, and I’m generally a fan of strategy games, but the translation job was throwing me off big time.
