50 percent of Germans believe that the Federal Republic will no longer be one of the world's leading economies in ten to 15 years. 58 percent of business executives said that Germany has passed its zenith. 68 percent of the population see a lasting weakening of industry – a similar number considers this to be a major problem. 76 percent of executives also consider the concern that high energy costs will lead to deindustrialization to be justified. Only 41 percent of respondents still believe that Germany is a very good business location – a dramatic drop compared to 2022.
