100% the other way around for me. My phone is the one thing I own, I use the most. To have a more fluid experience is worth a couple of hundred dollars. The hourly price difference is minuscule.

Honestly though, that does not seem far away from most diets. That’s the thing, it’s somewhat easy to lose weight. But to stick it out long term? Close to impossible for most. An absurd amount gain all of it back sooner or later.
By far and the best way not to struggle with obesity is not to get obese. Because when you’re there, the rest of your life will be a struggle.
“Save the planet” is too broad. Electric cars can help with global warming. But may be worse in other areas.
Thing is, global warming is by far and away the largest environmental threat today. So it’s likely very much beneficial to lessen the burden there, while other areas suffer.
But you’re very much right in that it won’t do shit as long as we’re producing electricity through fossil fuel among others. With that said, the same people pushing for electric cars are also pushing for green energy.

Genuine question: in what ways do Apple track iOS users (that cannot be turned off)?
I’m of the viewpoint that most tracking can be rather easily be turned off, and that android plays in a totally other ballpark here. But I might very well be wrong.
Only service where I’ve done the region thing. Paying 15 kr a month because I signed up through Argentina.
Start extremely small. And I mean extremely. You can find motivation to do five push ups today, 100%. It might suck, but you can do it.
After you’ve accomplished those you’re not allowed to feel like “I could’ve done more, that was nothing”. You’re the fucking hero of today. What an accomplishment.
Tomorrow you do another five, repeat that for a week if you can, perhaps even a month. Some day you might feel like “eh, I can do 10 today”. Then you do that. If not, you don’t.
After a while you might feel like “Maybe I can do a very short slow walk today”. Then you do that. And if that never happens, you don’t. But perhaps instead you feel like “damn, I’m a person who have done push ups every day for 10 days. That person can akso brush his/her teeth every night”. Then you do that.
Perhaps you feel like that person can have a genuine conversation with their parents for five minutes listening to their day. Now you’re suddenly that person as well. You know what more that person does? Helps out with cooking once a week.
Small good habits, that you credit yourself for, can help build other great habits. And even if they don’t, and you just manage to do those 5 push ups a day. Well, that person beats one who doesn’t!
Edit: Push ups can be substituted for basically anything. Sit ups, burpees, talking a short walk inside your room, meditating, you name it. Anything that’s quick, and “good” for you. That you need to push yourself to do.
Some happy news then, it seems like Memmy is being developed again. Was picked up again 6 days ago. Though, from what it looks like, it’s a rather major rework. So could take some time. But gkasdorf has put in a lot of work.
Yeah, that’s fair enough.
Thing is, Apollo was a rather proven app that had been developed for years. On a site that had been growing for even more years. Thus we could pay knowingly that we’d very likely get a couple of years out of it.
We have no idea if Lemmy will be a viable option in a year or two (basically all Reddit clones have failed, so it’s likely this will as well). And even if it succeed, we have no clue the developer will stay at it and develop the app. Looking at other Lemmy apps, most have stopped developing, basically just pushing out simple fixes.
This unfortunately has to be considered when it comes to app price. I’m not ready to pay as much for this, as I did for Reddit. I miiggt be down the line, but not yet.
Missed your reply, apologies! Didn’t even know I had that option turned on. Thanks. As I’m not in need of it, it has now been turned off and everything looks fantastic!
Time helps us get through pain, even though it often leaves a mark. For me, changing how I think about things has really made a difference.
It’s great to feel good, but I don’t think that needs to be the main goal of life. I try to see life as a gift where feeling all kinds of emotions is a valuable part. I hope everyone gets to feel the incredible joy of being in love and the comfort of a happy relationship, but also knows what it’s like to go through a heartbreak… Because going through different feelings, good or bad, adds so much to our lives.
Heartbreak gives us strength and empathy, happiness gives us beautiful memories, and love? Love is that quiet, steady thing that makes all the tough parts worth it. So I try to welcome every feeling, every moment, and every experience, because together, they make up our unique, stories.
Yeah, we had so many apps being developed couple of months ago. Most have stopped developing now, but not Avelon. Easily the top pick right now.
No one is saying they shouldn’t be allowed to run ads. But that they should be allowed to run highly specific and targeted ads is not by any means a forgone conclusion.
Television, newspapers, ads out in the “wild” and whatnot. All manage without individualizing ads. And Facebook could as well. But it’s more profitable to say to hell with our users privacy, let’s individualize the shit out of those ads.
That’s the problem.
Sounds like an amazing experience! Would love to do some soul seeking in Japan.
The protection cited in the article is for buildings. Alright? No one is becoming a militarized surveillance state over buildings being protected by the military.
This is a prime minister wanting to look strong in tough times, not a country becoming a surveillance state.
Avalon works fine for me, and was updated just a couple of days ago. Voyager works good as well, though not as frequently updated lately.
Couldn’t have said it better myself! Lovely that it’s the most upvoted one.
Fantastic news. Really appreciate the openness these last weeks.
Yeah. Even the largest leagues and teams are basically impossible to follow on anything but Reddit and Twitter. For smaller teams? Nothing else exists…
