I don’t think it’s tiny enough that you could multiply it by 20 and still call it tiny.

Conservatives love this idea, to the point that they don’t even bother thinking about who is going to pay for it. If you did mandatory service for people 18-20 the armed forces would be roughly 20 times larger than it is now in terms of personnel, 10 times larger if it were mandatory for men only. Military spending is nearly 1/4 of the total budget as-is, where is the funding going to come from if you have 10 or 20 times as many people to arm and train?
And what the fuck are you going to have them all do? They’re just gonna bum around and fuck for two years and then go get free degrees on the GI bill, driving up the cost even further.
Truly, the party of fiscal responsibility.
I do not have enough hit points to be that reckless lol
Thanks to Morrowind and Skyrim i still find myself absent-mindedly noticing “alchemy ingredients” when walking through the woods on hiking/camping trips, despite the fact that I haven’t played either game in a couple years at this point.
It’s been bad for a few years at least but it has gotten even worse recently, I assume due to incorporating AI/LLM’s into the mix.
The problem with GDP per capita is that it conveniently overlooks the possibility that a lot of that GDP is artificially inflated thanks to money that never actually moves around and stimulates the economy, because that country is a tax haven for foreigners and shell corporations, which is pretty common in the Caribbean.
Head to Nassau and walk around sometime, let me know if you still think the Bahamas is in good financial shape.
But I agree, rainwater collection is what they’ve been doing for hundreds of years, they just need to find ways to do it more efficiently.
Probably has something to do with the fact that desalinization plants are ridiculously expensive when you live on the same land mass as the factories that are building all the parts for them, and the price rises dramatically when it all has to be loaded up onto container ships, transported to you, and then built by a foreign company, and most of those island nations are incredibly broke.
None of us signed up for this shit.
Yeah it’s wild, almost as if the symbol had a different meaning before it got co-opted by an authoritarian populist European dictator…must just be an isolated coincidence, I mean it would be crazy if that happened twice lol
Some parts of the interface are actually pretty similar to the old Kings Quest/Quest for Glory games lol. For instance you still cycle through the cursor with a right click to look, talk, walk, and left left click to use the action shown by the cursor etc. The combat is substantially different, and sort of like KoTOR you can pause during combat and plan the next moves for all your party members. It also helps to have at least some understanding of AD&D’s combat system, THAC0 in particular, as that is what the combat is based on.
But yeah if you’ve been gaming long enough that you remember the golden age of Sierra games then you will probably be able to appreciate BG1 and 2
That was the plan from the start.
IMO the user interface/controls/gameplay of BG1 just feels so dated compared to modern games. If you didn’t play it back in the day and have that extra nostalgia bonus when you go to play it now, you may just find yourself thinking the game is super clunky and wondering what all the hype was about.
That being said, the story is second to none, and the story of BG2 is arguably as good or better. So if you don’t mind the somewhat-dated play style and want a good story, they could be right up your alley.
I was probably 9 or 10 at the time, visiting at a (wealthy) friends house, and my friend was showing me a bunch of his dads cool stuff, among which was a legitimate whip, like straight up indiana jones style. Naturally, I had to try it out…indoors…underneath the crystal chandelier hanging in their entryway…I wasn’t allowed over anymore after that.

Good point, now they can purchase more vodka and Iranian missiles that occasionally actually work lol
It absolutely is, that’s why the article is using percentages and not dollar amounts
Going from $1 to $2 is a 100% increase but you’re still fucking broke afterwards, and the guy whose $1,000 only grew by 1% still made 10 times more money than you lol
Maybe instead of spending all their money murdering Ukrainians they should be trying to create a country where the leading cause of death for young men isn’t alcoholism
Don’t Think Twice it’s Alright
Now I just need to find a way to block all the bot spam without blocking all the bot porn.
If it’s anything like what happens in the US they’re dumping “excess” production to keep prices artificially high.
