Ouagadougou: A Burkinabe from the diaspora electrifies the new Saaba health center at a cost of eight million CFA francs

Ouagadougou, Nov. 6, 2025 (AIB)-Entrepreneur Zakaria Taram, residing in Italy, has carried out the solar electrification of the new Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) in the commune of Saaba, at an estimated cost of approximately eight million CFA francs.

The official handover of the infrastructure took place on Thursday, in the presence of the representative of the minister in charge of territorial administration, the president of the special delegation of Saaba, the traditional chiefs and the health workers of the center.

According to the donor, this gesture is part of the momentum initiated by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who invites the diaspora to actively contribute to the development of Burkina Faso.

“It was the actions of the Burkinabe government that inspired me to support the Saaba CSPS. I invite other members of the diaspora to follow suit,” said Mr. Taram, a resident of Italy.

The head nurse at the post, Aline Kéré, expressed her deep gratitude to the benefactor:

“With this lighting, we will be able to better care for patients. We are very pleased and thank the donor.”

For the president of the special delegation of Saaba, Adolphe Athanase Thiombiano, this action brings security, dignity and hope to the community.

“Until recently, agents used the light from their mobile phones to treat the sick, assist women in labor, and manage emergencies,” he said.

The representative of the minister in charge of territorial administration, Boukari Savadogo, praised this exemplary initiative.

“The act we celebrate today demonstrates that the diaspora is a strategic force, a lever for development, and a reservoir of patriotic initiatives.”

Zakaria Taram says he wants, through this action, to contribute to improving the working conditions of health workers and the well-being of the population.
