We read Graham Platner’s whole Reddit archive. The vilification of the Maine candidate for Senate doesn’t square with what he actually wrote in his posts.
current affairs is 5 years newer than jacobin and (subjectively, IMO) is less entrenched/established. But you’re spot on about jacobin lacking in sense
The fact that Jacobin is going “anti cancel culture” on this and current affairs isn’t is kinda funny considering that current affairs nearly collapsed and was basically cancelled over a labor/editorial dispute with its writers a couple years ago. NJR has more principles than people give him credit for perhaps.
To their credit, Current Affairs has pushed against this. Interesting seeing this being the issue that divides the SocDem newsmags.
Jacobin has always been “anti cancel culture” “anti woke” etc
Current Affairs has been at this for a very long time and has some institutional sense. Jacobin has startup mentality.
