If he splits off and runs as third party after losing the primary, Democrats need to know that he’s a crazy antivaxx bigot so he won’t get otherwise uninformed Democrats’ votes and won’t be a spoiler against Democrats. Plus, if he runs as third party and it’s obvious that he’s a crazy antivaxx bigot, he can be a spoiler against Republicans, since crazy antivaxx bigots are a vital constituency within the Republican Party.
