#1 The Guardian is left leaning, and they certainly don’t pull punches with conservatives. This is also an article about a widely known talking point that conservatives are not shy about. This is not the counter to the article that you think it is.
The reason people disagree with #2 is because they can handle abstract thinking. Teaching about a race massacre in the 20s is not in any way designed to make white kids feel guilty. Nothing of the sort made me feel “guilty” as a child, but it did help me wrap my head around the seriousness of civil rights and the extreme difficulties many minority groups had in the US.
No one is telling kids they did it, no one is telling them white people did it because they’re evil. It’s a ridiculous notion, and it’s used to justify white washing important history. I’ve seen lesson plans for subject like this, and they’re as milquetoast as they can be.
God, considering how much sexual abuse has been exposed in southern Baptist churches you must be furious at the indoctrination of young children into that religion.
The ‘stripped-down’ version is being pushed into schools.

I won’t play these semantic games with you.
All you have been doing is arguing semantics. Literally the basis for your entire debate is based on semantics and wordgames.
Dude, there’s a very good likelihood that I am descended from slave owners several generations back on my mother’s side. Do you think I felt guilty? Do you think I felt responsible? Do you think I felt “harangued”? No. I felt lucky to be alive in a time where I can be a better person than my ancestors. I felt glad to know that I can help raise my kids to be on the right side of history going forward. I felt appreciative that I can do what I can to be a force for good in this world.

Conservatives don’t want their children being taught that society has progressed. They don’t want them getting the idea that such progress is their inheritance, and that it is their responsibility to bring about further progress.
Conservatives really don’t like the idea of bearing responsibility to the society they inhabit.

I have two questions for you.
Please explain what critical race theory is. Not what you want it to be, not what you heard it is… but what the course actually entails.
Show me proof that critical race theory is in the curriculum of ANY elementary or middle school in America.

Stop pretending everyone is as intellectually limited as you.
