The maltreatment and lack of support for ADHD and ASD is the result of an alienated dysfunctional society and that is the direct product of capital.

I don’t think I’ve seen another meme that describes how I feel more accurately than this one.

Very relatable. Though for me, even after reaching the last paragraph, there’s a lot of internal back and forth of yoyoing between blaming myself and blaming society - being afraid of being someone who is “making excuses”, but also being deeply outraged at the degree to which society is delusional about individual human capability, even when neurotypical, much less with ADHD. In my experience, most people’s reaction on the nicer end goes a little something like the following (in spirit, not necessarily literal phrasing): “I’m sorry you deal with that… so what are you going to do about it?”

Like do what things with what energy?

At one point, I was pondering the idea of framing executive dysfunction as similar to chronic fatigue but for the mind instead of the body. Because it doesn’t seem to be something where you get “stronger” from “working out”, you just get abnormally weary fast and need more rest. But resting more and working less is a “does not compute” moment for the USian mindset.

And I am not a psychologist, just a layperson, so all it is, is my own attempt at framing.
