It’s pretty funny because first foreign official to congratulate him was president of Czechia who is so deep in US ass not even his shoes is sticking out, and straight up said he would like to continue the prowestern course together.
The controversies about PiS in general and Nawrocki specifically somehow being “pro Russian” stems from that the significant part of original PiS power base are
southwesternEDIT: southeastern catochuds who did not forgot what banderites did to Poles (and are revanchist for Lviv, not to mention having longstanding economical competition with western Ukrainians) and thus especially IPN (Polish state anticommunist “history” institute which Nawrocki was director) was allowed to explore Wołyń massacre research and publishing. Of course this is just skin deep, in reality PiS did what every conservatives and liberals did in 2022 and suddenly went 100% pro Ukraine. This naturally confused the abovementoned part of PiS powerbase, so there was some confused squawking on the Polish right from both sides, but they fall in line like every time before.If you have to know one deciding thing about polish politics is that there is always much much more smoke than fire and yelling than real actions. In reality, all mainstream parties are the pro-EU, pro-US brunchers.

I meant “southeastern”, pardon. Poland still suffers from uneven development since partition times in XIX century. East is generally less developed than west. As a result southeastern regions are full of traditional catholic chuds, while western are somewhat more liberal.
Ah that makes a lot more sense now. Its got a similar but sort of inverse dynamic to Ukraine in terms of uneven development resulting in very vast spheres of political economic development in this contemporary era.
On gmina level it seems like it’s mostly cities/metropolitan areas voting for libchuds and the rest voting for magachuds, the Poland A/B shit happens when you go powiat/województwo level
Yeah, and the geographical differences are lessening but it’s still noticeable. Hell i guess people before WW2 were telling the same thing.
Actually most interesting thing about this elections was that voters from abroad voted for libs and with quite big gap. Normally it was just gusanos from USA and Germany shitting on all of use from sheer gusanoid spite. Then again with how PO recently had compete with PiS with racism and warmongering, what is even the actual difference.
