    Don’t they have plant-based cellulose options now (for food packaging and single use, I mean).

      Yeah, but there aren’t enough facilities made to treat those and turn them into compost. They take an extraordinarily long time and constant oxygenation to decompose.

    Good, but to be honest I’m a little pessimistic that my country (Japan) will do little more than pay it lip service. It’s downright insane here. I was going to buy a box of cupcakes for my family, I’m not exaggerating on this, the only ones the store had were each in their own plastic cup, individually wrapped in plastic, set inside a plastic tray which is inside a shrinkwrapped box, which they will then give to you in a plastic bag to take home. And why? Because it’s more polite or some bullshit.
