The roots of that phrase take their origin from the anti semitic-anti communist slur jewish bolshevism so as always fascists nowadays hide their propaganda in code; Far Right/White Supremacists are now Alt Right socialism and general left politics is labeled cultural Marxism which itself is often tied to cancel culture a cultural boogeyman that while problematic is largely overblown & used as a weapon by the Weinsteins, Peterson most notably, Sam Harris et al as a way of marginalizing real concerns of the left about equality.
