anyway, back in my publication development days, I read some print media journalism standards from years ago about how it was not “best practice” to use pictures of people with their mouths open (i.e. photo taken while talking), because it makes them appear comical/dumb/unprofessional/weird. basically, the mouth being frozen open is visually disturbing to us on a not-always-conscious level.
and ever since, it’s been a thing I noticed in articles when an outlet is hostile to the person despite whatever “neutral pov” voice they are pretending to use in the story frame.
anyway, I like to collect closeups of those photos when they are of people who objectively suck, because they make me laugh.
