I mean I know its likely gonna change once the big waves wash over but still.

Alt: Drake meme template but with a anime girl. Top row with the girl gesturing approvingly says: if reddit is gonna kill 3rd party clients then I’m just gonna switch to Lemmy. Bottom row, with the girl showing distress, says: there arent as many funny trans people on Lemmy rn

First kind of people in new online spaces is always tech nerds. Then the trans people come, or the tech nerds become trans, who knows. Anyways, it shouldn’t take long ;)

Gotta say, I like the way lemmy handles upvote/downvote numbers, it not only let’s me see the total number but also how many downvoted

I’d say some of the community moved over, see !lgbtq_plus@beehaw.org. That’s more news and politics oriented, but it seems pretty active.

I’m definitely hoping to see some more funny queer memes over time here (I’m not funny or clever enough to make original memes).

I’m hearing some … troubling things about some of the Lemmy developers… the word “tankies” cropping up 0_o

        https://mstdn.social/@feditips/110476830253102884

Kbin seems less problematic though, and while it’s still rough around the edges seems, to me, to have better UX too. And it can still interact with communities and people on Lemmy instances so you’re not isolated away from those corners.

The main devs are MLs, but I don’t think that necessarily makes them tankies. The Lemmygrad instance is the worst offender if that bothers you. This instance is not sectarian, though it does have a leftist culture in general.

There is an anarchist community already on this instance as well, and it’s likely this instance trends toward progressive politics as users come in and push the culture toward the mainstream.

Keep in mind, the technology behind this platform is mostly agnostic. Anyone can build an instance that facilitates their chosen beliefs and choose to only federate with other like-minded instances.

Better than rightoids 🤷‍♀️ Still somewhat authoritarian

Too bad anarkiddies never read and never achieved a revolution in the entire existence of living organisms

Also you do not need to have US citizenship to drink the exported koolaid which comes in various shapes and sizes (media, pop culture, porn, consumable foods, clothing etc)

Stay mad and in denial, reddit downvote manners never achieved anything except a sense of pride and accomplishment just like EA in game purchases, also anarchists are tools of bourgeoisie
