Chicago policing has historically been quite bad and racist. Never forget that International Day of Labor(aka May 1, besides the USA which has some random bullshit labor day that isn’t on May 1st, as to avoid international solidarity) was picked for the Haymarket Riots in Chicago. Chicago has a long history of workers rights movements and police brutality suppressing said movements.
Labor day was created in the United States after 1876 in honor of the then-crushed labor movement nation-wide, with certain anarchists and socialists executed in Texas (about 7, I think). I forgot their names, but they’re quite famous.
My mistake, so many police-mandated extrajudicial murders of leftists in USA, I may have mistaken this tragedy for the Haymarket massacre.
Ah it’s fine
