I’m very far from us politics and Claudia may possibly be a lib (i don’t actually know).

So I’m wondering why I haven’t seen more of this on hexbear. There’s been a lot of dunking on the one-but-two parties, but not much discussion on third parties? I could also be wrong here, I only see things that make their way through Lemmy to lemmygrad

We’ve had quite a few posts about PSL , but the fact of the matter is most of us don’t give a shit about electoral politics in the imperial core.

Their coverage has been intermittent on HB and LG. Mostly in comments, not many dedicated posts.

I pulled bullet points from their political platform for 2024. If you go to the linked page, they expand on each point in more detail.

      • Seize the Biggest 100 Corporations, Create A New Economy for the People

      • Overthrow the Dictatorship of the Rich — Build a Democracy That Serves the Working Class

      • End the Rule of Money and Lock Up the Corrupt Elite

      • End All U.S. Aid to Apartheid Israel. End the Genocide and Free Palestine

      • Cut the Military Budget by 90% — Peace, Not War with China & Russia!

      • End the War on Black America!

      • Defend Women’s Rights, Full Equality for LGBTQ People

      • Save the Planet from Capitalism

They go into more detail on the candidates here.

The two party system is so dominant in the US that a tie is more likely than a third party winning any state - it hasn’t happened since 1968. Personally, Id be thrilled to see a PSL or Green win, but it’s not even really worth the effort of voting.

That’s only true on the national level though, local elections can have a pretty big impact on your life and third parties perform better.
