It really was eye opening when I realized how much of the popular content 9n reddit a few years ago was just celebrating violence against women.
They had a whole fucking subreddit called pussypassdenied that was basically just “this women pushed a man for intentionally blocking her path so he curb stomped her for 5 uninterrupted minutes.”

Blocktube addon for firefox can mitigate some of this (I think it’s on other browsers too). Youtube is clearly doing stuff to fuck with the functionality of such add-ons though. Can’t easily block stuff from a context menu anymore, for example.
