      It’s their politicians and media. I believe people in the UK when polled are less transphobic than in the USA. In that they generally don’t care much either way.

      But in the USA it became part of the culture war so if you’re vaguely dem aligned your at least performatively less transphobic.

      But there’s small number of influential TERFs that infest both Labour side and the tories, that get their voices elevated by the media and parties.

        The BBC is like the inverse of Hollywood. Both very insular, both with very homogeneous politics, but in two different directions.

      JK Rowling is funnelling literally millions of pounds into anti-trans groups. She will continue to fund them to the tune of hundreds of millions over the coming decades.

      If she stopped existing tomorrow due to covid (or whatever) it would be an absolutely massive blow to the anti-trans movement and would probably actually be felt outside the UK too. She’s that fucking important.
