User tries to troll progressive politics by saying just vote to remove Republicans. Proceeds to punch left when people raise why more than voting is needed

If only there were some way of mobilising the masses to go out and vote. Unfortunately, having already won the war of ideas, there is no point considering what might do that or how Obama managed a 65% turnout because there’s no need to engage in ideas anymore.

The only thing left to do is to continue to shame people into voting and to triple down on Biden. The DNC cannot fail, it can only be failed 🫠

I appreciate the DNC continuing to get more and more efficient and streamlined.

They’re blaming the voters for biden losing months before the election this time, clearly they’ve improved since 2016.

It has been really refrshing to watch largely apolitical normal people finally get to the point where their response to blue Maga is simply just “stop fucking lying to me, there wasn’t a primary, i rember 6 months ago”

That and the posts saying “Oh Biden got younger tied one time” having responses of “I watched the debate, stop fucking lying”

I wanna see the liberal article that came out after Dale Earnhardts crash

“Oh so he takes a turn a little wide one time and suddenly he’s not allowed to race anymore”

The argument doesn’t make sense. Historically, higher turnouts have helped Democrats more so than Republicans, but that’s due to the particular politics of the elections in question. It’s not some absolute rule. Plus it depends a lot on where the higher than normal turnout occurs. Hitting 95% turnout in New York and California won’t do shit.

Also ignores all the voter suppression both parties are happy to do, which usually is targeted towards the younger voters. No wonder they have low turnout when they do their best to keep them from voting

Despite decrying liberal democratic elections and their meaninglessness, the fr*nch and ukian elections put me back on the election “analysis” mindset. I feel compelled to respond to the OP from reddit.world. Is it true that higher turnout simply means democrats win?

    2012: 58.6% turnout, Obama wins
    2016: 60.1% turnout, Trump wins
    2020: 66.6% turnout, Biden wins

The issue with truisms is that they usually aren’t true. When someone says “the average age of fox news viewers is 67” they imply these people will basically die by the next decade, but leave it the fact that this average isn’t going up by 4 every election cycle.

Also it’s a unique fun to see lemmitors fight by calling each other out on how much of a redditor each other are.

Also trying to make definitive statements about sonethhing that happens once every 4 years is meaningless.

There are a huge list of factors around every election, this one happens to have the quirk of both options being widely detested.

If they really wanna increase turnout, these posters should be focusing their local candidates, making arguments tailored to those places and people. Give your neighbors a reason that’s upfront and personal to show up on Tuesday.

There’s nothing new to be said about the presidential side of things, harping on about it with the same arguments week after week and month after month is more likely to exhaust people and burn them out before november.

Yeah but that’s actual political work. It’s infinitely easier just to spit in your face and scream “VOTE FOR BRANDON OR YOURE A FASCIST”
