To be clear, I think NATO does have a future. But that future is as a much more European alliance, one in which the United States is mostly hands off and European states provide for their own defense. The strongest voice for European sovereignty and defense is undoubtedly French President Emmanuel Macron, although his attention is probably now focused on domestic politics after the French snap elections left him with a hung parliament. He may not be as strong on this issue as usual, and if he is forced to work with a far-right parliamentary bloc, he will find it more difficult to “Europeanize” French foreign policy.

I am pro whatever you want to call this.

If the US empire is going to be weakened, strengthening components of it that function as vassals will achieve that. In this case, a stronger Europe that does not rely on US military power is going to weaken US influence over Europe.

Fuck Macron and fuck the liberals obviously but from a real-politik point of view if we want China’s line of a multipolar world of sovereign nations then we have to give countries the power they need to actually be sovereign rather than dependent on being a component of the US empire.

Europe itself will be contained by the benefits of land-based trade with China and Russia as long as it is disconnected from US control and influence. Once they’re tied to China and Russia the whole group will become interdependent. Those in the EU that don’t want to be vassals of the US are already indicating they want closer ties to China even if the public media is not pleasant about it.
