FFT is one of the best games of all time. Change my mind.

Also remake when holy fuck we’re getting remakes of remakes at this point and yet nobody has made a definitive remake version of this WHY NOT

The PSP version was kind of the definitive version as long as they also bring back the original soundtrack instead of the downscaled PSP midi soundtrack, so this would be okay honestly.

I mean the audio is kind of screwed up across the board, also portions of the graphics were kinda messed with. Does it actually play better though?

Fwiw Tacticsu Ogre Reborn was also just the PSP game again, but they swapped the mechanical guts and it plays better than the PSP game, so…

Ivalice is one of their best worlds imo. I beat FFT years ago but only got around to FF12 like 2 years ago but after finding out they take olace in the same universe just made appreciate the lore so much more. I need to go back and play Tactics again.

Yes, hands down my favourite game in entire franchise and best tactics game ever. I fucking wish for a continuation or even solid remake.

On a side note: The coming game Sword of Convallaria, judging from the demo, have really similar graphics and vibes, but unfortunately it’s a gacha game so hell no.

PS: anyone know some similar games (PC only)? I tried few but none had it.

I couldn’t get into it during PS1 years due to how inferior it seemed to FFT. Is the Tactics Ogre: Reborn good? It is only PC version i found. Or its better to try the ancient emu?

That is in fact the only PC version, and it’s basically the “canon” version now. Also how dare u say this abt my slop aubrey-bat

Most people consider it to be a huge upgrade, presentationally it’s better even than War of the Lions on PSP, the script and story have been hugely expanded, classes have equippable Skills now, classes are more fixed than the original game, (gear and weapon restrictions) the PSP version of Ogre and Reborn are both closer to FFT than the original. To me they are the same game, I am about to start FFT now based on my burning love for Tactics Ogre.

I’ve gotten halfway through this game like 3 times. Each time I either get stuck on a boss fight or am trying to do something weirdly specific like steal an item, and then come back to it after too long and have forgotten the kind of complicated story. One day I’ll have to try to beat it without too much pausing so that doesn’t happen.

Generally named NPC like Agrias came with their own non-generic skills that makes game easier. After you get one certain NPC to join your squad entire game seems much easier due to how OP he is.
