I heard on Wikipedia that AES countries were often frowning upon scouting groups, and pushing FDJ/Komsomoľ. Were FDJ/VLKSM just scouting but communism, or something else? Also, if you find it justified for communists to be against scouting, explain in comments

You are thinking of the Pioneers, which were absolutely not frowned upon. No one could wait for their month in the summer to get packed away to the big camps and spend a month at what was essentially a massive Scout summer camp.
It was pushed heavily, and a fond memory for millions of people.
