Ran across this video, I initially thought it was a quote from Mao or one of the Kim’s, but when she said that the opposite of capitalism wasn’t socialism or communism, that’s when the alarm bells started going off. Are bourgeois feminists STILL pushing the whole “socialism is for old white men” thing?

    • was having a conversation about worker struggles, specifically the difficulty in organization of certain professionals and somebody i didn’t expect to brought up “post-marxism” as an alternative to worker organization. and i said, earnestly, “i don’t really understand what that refers to in this context.” and they said that marxism was “just for white guys” so it was not relevant. and all i could think was, “noted white guy, Mao Zedong. noted white guy, Thomas Sankara. noted white guy, Ho Chi Minh. noted white guy, Kim Il Sung.” but like a coward, i just kinda accepted that as a critique and moved on. because i am a noted white guy. it should also be noted that, like the tiktok, this was an class 4 [high level] white woman.

I hate this liberal idpol sophism. The point of Marxism (etc.) is to be a science. We can and should complain about Darwin being a white chauvinist, but that doesn’t mean we throw out evolution or his contributions to it, because the truth of them exist independently of his having said so, as is the point of science! It would be just as absurd to reject using your phone because it is “tainted” by having a touch screen and other parts that were originally invented by white men!

What we should care about with these evaluations is how conducive theories are to the destruction of, for example, white supremacy, by means of practical action aimed at definite ends. I’ll be waiting for an approach that is better in this regard than Marxism. Let me tell you, an “ethos” of “service” is not going to cut it when the CIA sends a rightwing death squad to gut you like a fish.

Watch this fucker then rush to embrace white neoliberals who happen to be women

did you take it more seriously when you thought an old white man said it

No, because it’s nonsense either way. Also it’s laughable that this person thinks communists are reluctant to argue with dead white men and call them mean names. That’s like half of what we do.

This canard is a huge telling-on-oneself deal.

You think we should focus more on BIPOC people and gender diversity? Me too.

You think that socialism is all a bunch of old white men though? It’s almost as if you are preferencing white men over the socialists who are BIPOC and of diverse genders. That would mean that you’re guilty of the problems you have convinced yourself that you are diagnosing in socialism.

Go read Luxemburg or Krupskaya or Kollontai or Ho Chi Minh or Leslie Feinberg or Mao or Huey P Newton or George Jackson or, of course, Fanon.

As a fellow lazy thinker I’d probably accept an idpol argument against socialism, the only problem is I don’t have enough money.

Instead of a old white man, that time was a middle-age white woman. Instead of quote from a book, that have serious science research behind, that time was just words in the wind.
