    Her family has a history of being communist/socialist, she has expressed pro-Palestinian sentiment, she’s a climate scientist, and her being elected has caused western media to collectively shit its pants (like this article). So all in all, I’m really hopeful at first glance. We’ll obviously have to wait and see.

    Is she going to be that much different than AMLO? Decent economic policy but also fucking over the indigienous and migrants.

    How did AMLO do regarding police corruption?

      Badly. He began massive remilitarization campaigns because he essentially gave up on the local police; declaring them a lost cause, and the that the military would be substantially harder to corrupt.

    Personally, I think if 37 candidates are getting assassinated they need to shut down elections for a year and get some help.

    If 37 of your running mates get assassinated by the cartels, 11 kidnapped and 70 threatened and somehow you survive? I sadly have to believe that you’re already in their pocket.
